Scholarship F.A.Q.’s

What is the timeline?

• Scholarship applications open on Friday, April 29th, 2022.

• Scholarship applications close on Friday, May 27th, 2022, at 11:59 pm ET.

• Scholarship review process Saturday, May 28th, 2022 - June 9th, 2022.

• Scholarship status will be sent via email to all applicants on June 10th, 2022.

• Awardees must acknowledge, accept and complete paperwork for receipt of their scholarship by Friday, June 17th, 2022.

• Deadline to retract your scholarship after acceptance is July 1st, 2022.

• After July 1st, 2022 you will be responsible for a $300 administrative penalty fee if you have changed your plans.

When do scholarships close?

We will be accepting scholarships until Friday, May 27th, 2022, at 11:59 pm ET.

How many scholarships are you awarding?

We will be offering the equivalent dollar amount of 4 full scholarships this year. However, depending on the need, we may divide the total dollar amount of each scholarship to accommodate partial scholarship requests. For example, we may award two full and four partial scholarships based on the submissions we receive, ensuring that all scholarships awarded total the dollar amount allocated for scholarships this year.

What are my chances of receiving a scholarship?

We will be awarding the equivalent dollar amount of 4 full scholarships to attend NINE this year. This scholarship award is competitive; we are highly focused on offering this unique opportunity to women who believe they will benefit from gaining access to our community of offerings. While we wish we could provide a scholarship to everyone who applies, if you do not receive one this year, please know we will invite you to apply next year, keeping in mind that you are a returning applicant. Additionally, priority will go to any woman who has not yet received a NINE scholarship in the past, and we encourage new NINE participants to apply.

What are the next steps in the process?

Once we receive your complete application, our committee will review all applications. You will receive an email confirmation of your status indicating if you have or have not received the scholarship this year by Friday, June 10th, 2022.

We strongly encourage you to be honest and forthright when answering the question, "What is your financial need?" This will allow us to provide partial scholarships where needed so everyone can benefit from the scholarship funds we have available for this initiative.

How and when will you notify me about my scholarship application status?

You will receive an email on June 10th, 2022 detailing the status of your application.

What is the scholarship value? 

• If awarded a full scholarship, you will receive $2,500 applied to your tuition for NINE Retreat 2022. 

• If awarded a partial scholarship, you will receive up to $1,250.00 applied to your tuition for NINE Retreat 2022. 

• The total funds awarded for all scholarship types will be $10,000.00. 

• If most of our applications are for partial scholarships, we will divvy the funds up accordingly, so please be sure to request what you genuinely need; that way, as many women can access this scholarship benefit. 

Can I transfer my scholarship to next year if I am awarded but cannot attend NINE? 

Due to the nature of the funds, you will not be able to transfer your scholarship award to another year. Therefore, your scholarship award is valid only for the NINE Retreat 2022 in-person event. If you are awarded a scholarship and cannot attend NINE, you will forfeit your scholarship and it will be awarded to another applicant. 

How are the funds awarded?

 If awarded a scholarship, your credit will be applied to your account and available for use as soon as you complete your scholarship award acknowledgment paperwork. You will not receive cash, paper check, or transfer. Once your booking is complete, the funds will be credited to your account internally with NINE. If you would like to upgrade your room type, you will be responsible for any difference between your award and the balance due. The balance will be due upon booking. For example: If you are awarded a $2500 scholarship but would like to book a room type that costs $3000, you can use your credit towards that booking and will need to pay your $500 balance when you complete your NINE Retreat 2022 registration. 

What if I am selected for a scholarship and accept it and then change my mind and do not attend NINE?

 If you are selected for a scholarship and accept the award by June 17th, 2022, and have completed your paperwork, then change your mind and cannot attend NINE Retreat, you must notify us in writing via email at hello@nineretreat.com no later than July 1st, 2022. If you notify in writing after July 1st, 2022, you will be responsible for paying an administrative penalty fee of $300. We strongly encourage you only to accept the award if you are 100% sure you will attend NINE Retreat 2022, as the awards are non-transferable. The $300 fee covers the administrative needs to retract your funds from your account, recoup them, and select a new awardee to accept your award and support them in onboarding and registering for the retreat. In the spirit of community, we want everyone to come and enjoy themselves and have plenty of time to book their flights and make their plans, so please consider this detail when accepting and applying for this scholarship. 

How can the scholarship be used?

This scholarship is only for use towards your NINE Retreat 2022 tuition for the week. You cannot use this scholarship to cover travel, flights, rental car, or food. Your tuition fee for the week at NINE Retreat 2022 is all-inclusive of food, accommodations, room and board, workshops, and meals.
